Hasan Demir Obuz graduated from the Department of Industrial Design of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1996. During his studies, he started his design career by establishing Demirden Design with Mehtap Obuz in 1994. Focusing on exhibition stand and event design, Demirden has won many internationally prestigious awards such as Red Dot, Exhibit Design and Design Management Europe. His works have been published in international books and magazines. Hasan Demir Obuz was commisioned as a Board Member of the Industrial Designers Society of Turkey between 2004 and 2006. He has also participated in several national design competitions as a member of jury.

He established the ilio brand in 2007 together with partners from Demirden Design and is currently both designer and design manager in the ilio team. His product designs were recognized with awards such as the iF Product Design Award for the twig beech wood stool, and the Design Plus Award for the forest handmade crystalline stemware set.
